Immediately after Matt Hagman's race, fellow teammate William James had to switch wheels with Matt.  His rear wheel was bent from a recent crash and could not be raced on.

This was William James's first race as a SI team member!

Craig McKinney gets the once-over from the USCF official.  I think his wheel is over the line!

The juniors field is generally smaller than the Cat fields.  Also, Cat 5,4,3 racers that are under 18 have the option of racing both as a Cat racer and a junior.

There were 2 cat 3 racers that came off the front during the race.

William leads the pack as he tries to catch the breakaway riders.  This may have been his downfall, as later he came off the back of the group.

Further back, Craig struggles to hold the wheels of the pack riders.  The Cat 3 riders successfully blew apart the race and dominated the field.  Still, it was an excellent race for our riders to gain experience, and Craig had a noteworthy 10th place finish.
